JTL are looking for Functional Skills Tutor / Assessor for the North East and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for delivering maths, English and ICT Functional Skills from Level 1 and Level 2 associated with the Apprenticeship Programme. Responsible for the design and implementation of schemes of work, session plans and resources, contextualising functional skills into a variety of vocational areas, to support functional skills delivery. Responsible for the teaching, learning, assessment and learner support which leads to stretching and challenging the learner Ensuring minimum standards of achievement rates are met for Apprenticeship Delivery in Functional Skills.
Responsible for booking and administering Functional Skills tests in accordance with the Awarding Bodies (City & Guilds) guidance.
Able to design, deliver and contextualise functional skills training/learning appropriate to Apprenticeship learners at a consistently good standard
Previous experience working with young people.
To have delivered functional skills in a vocational setting.
Extensive Functional Skills delivery experience across a variety of sectors.
Previous experience of delivering and supporting maths, English and ICT qualifications up to level 2 to 16-19 19+ learners
Experience of supporting a high rate of young people to achieve planned qualifications in functional skills with vocational aspects.
A proven track record of working with disadvantaged learners and delivery of Employability Skills.
Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, CTTLS, DTTLS)
Skills for Life or Functional skills qualification in English, maths and ICT
Literacy or Numeracy Level 4/5 subject specialism.
D32 and D33, A1 award or Level 3 Certificate in assessing vocational achievement.
Mon - Fri 37.5 hours per week Annual Salary 22K - 25K depending on qualifications. A DBS will be required for this post. Please forward CV's to JTL ASAP.
